Capello plays down talk of crisis | World Soccer

Roma coach Fabio Capello has denied his team are in crisis, despite their defeat to Brescia on Saturday which left the Giallorossi five points behind Milan in the Serie A table.

“Crisis? I don’t use this word,” stated the Roma boss.

“We are obviously having a difficult time at the moment.

“The result probably penalises us. A draw was probably a fair result, after the penalty I don’t remember Brescia having a shot on goal.

“We lacked speed and quality in our performance. Now we have to think about ourselves and not Milan.”

Milan stretched their lead at the top of the table to five points with a 2-0 win at Bologna, courtesy of goals from Andrei Shevchenko and Jon Dahl Tomasson.

Elsewhere, Juventus moved level on points with Roma in second place with a narrow 1-0 victory over Chievo at the Stadio Delle Alpi. Italian international Mauro Camoranesi was on target for the reining champions.

New signing Adriano scored twice for Inter in the 4-0 win over Siena. Alvaro Recoba allso scored a brace including one from the penalty spot.

Parma are up to fourth after their 2-2 draw at Perugia. Dario Hubner put Perugia in front on eight minutes, but Parma hit back with two goals inside four minutes from Alberto Gilardino and Domenico Morfeo on 39 mminutes. However, three minnutes later Jose Ze Maria converted from the penalty spot three minutes later to earn Perugia a point.

Lazio and Sampdoria shared the points at the Stadio Olimpico after a 1-1 draw. Fiore gave Lazio an early lead on nine minutes, but Fabio Bazzani replied foor the visitors two minutes into the second half.
